Our most frequently requested technique is used to relax the entire body. Long strokes are made in the direction of blood flow to the heart to loosen tense muscles, improve circulation, and release oxytocin. The benefits are many, and the discomfort is minimal. Swedish massage has been proven to reduce stress hormones and boost the immune system.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage concentrates the focus of a massage session in problem areas of the body. In tighter regions of muscle, intense pressure is applied to treat the deepest layers of muscle tissue and release long-held tension. This type of treatment is effective for relieving chronic pain and enhancing mobility. Patients should note that deep-tissue techniques are applied strategically and carefully, as only certain muscles respond well to intense pressure.

Sports Massage

When the muscles of the body are strained by repetitive use, performance can suffer. Sports massage is used to resolve dysfunction and relieve pain related to muscle strains and sports-related injuries. With the right timing and techniques, sports massage treatments can prepare athletes for event-day performance and facilitate post-activity recovery.

Trigger Point Massage

The build-up of tension, toxins, and excess minerals can result in tight areas of muscle that refer pain to other parts of the body. Evelyn’s massage technique isolates trigger points for treatment and softens the tissue surrounding them. Using precise and targeted pressure, the goal is not only to relieve the referred pain, but also to resolve the trigger point at the root of the problem. Pain is often significantly reduced by a single treatment, and regular sessions can help to control chronic pain or stress.

Hot Stone massage ($125/90 Mins)

The use of water-heated stones enhances the benefits and effectiveness of therapeutic massage. The direct heat improves circulation, prevents muscle spasms, and increases flexibility. Hot stone treatment relaxes surface muscles, allowing for the relief of tension deep within the muscle tissue.

Couples massage

Evelyn works with several other therapists, and she chooses the ideal practitioner based on the unique preferences of each couple. Though same-room couples’ massages are available, we often encourage couples to receive their massages separately so that each individual receives the maximum benefit and best possible state of relaxation. The shared experience of massage can deepen a couple's connection and create the opportunity for mutual appreciation.

Pregnancy massage ($85/60 mins)

Prenatal massage is an amazing source of natural pain relief during pregnancy. We are able to relieve excess pressure on the lower back and pelvis, headaches, muscle tension, cramping, and swelling. At Nurturing Hands, we incorporate a special pillow that allows a pregnant mom to lay comfortably and safely on her belly through all 3 trimesters. Our unique approach gives the massage therapist access to areas of the body that could not be treated otherwise.

Newborn & Infant massage

Evelyn specializes in newborn and infant massage, which evolves throughout the first several weeks of a child’s life. Newborn massage requires careful attention to massage away from the heart. From age 8 weeks to pre-crawler, the nervous system is still developing, but strokes switch to massaging blood towards the heart. Evelyn’s collaborative training approach empowers parents to massage their baby themselves, beginning with her guidance and then eventually on their own. To deliver even greater benefits during this bonding early-life massage, music therapy is often incorporated.
